Abstract : This study aimed to know the relationship between Alexithymia and emotional intelligence in a sample of secondary school female teachers in Jeddah. It also aimed to reveal differences in Alexithymia and emotional intelligence according to variable of years of experience and age. Sample of the study: sample consisted of (350) female teachers who work at secondary schools in Jeddah. Their ages ranged from 25 to 45 years. Tools of the study: to achieve the aims of the study, the researcher used Toronto Scale of alexithymia developed by Taylor et al and translated by Kafafi and AlDawash (2011), and emotional intelligence scale developed by AlDidi (2006) . Statistical methods used in the study: the researcher used means, standard deviation , Pearson correlation , One Way Anova , and T-test for independent samples . Results of the study: The study found the following: 1-There is a statistically significant negative correlation between alexithymia and emotional intelligence in a sample of a study. 2-There are no statistically significant differences in alexithymia according to variables of (years of experience and age) in a sample of a study . 3-There are statistically significant differences in emotional intelligence according to variables of (years of experience and age) for those who have (16) years of experience or more and for those whose ages are between 36 and 45 years in a sample of a study.
